Tantrums and an angry man in Canada

I just let a guy have it for his ignorance about parenting. He wrote something about how much he hates kids and blames parents for everything that bugs him. I posted a comment to set him straight. I didn't intend to write so much but I guess he struck a nerve. I'm the guy with the kid who's having a tantrum, and I'd like a little respect please.

Update: I may be forced to reconsider my position after realizing the Oompa Loompas are on Angry Man's side on this issue.
Oompa Loompa Song #3 (Veruca Salt)
Oompa loompa doompadee doo
I've got another puzzle for you
Oompa loompa doompadah dee
If you are wise you'll listen to me
Who do you blame when your kid is a brat
Pampered and spoiled like a siamese cat
Blaming the kids is a lie and a shame
You know exactly who's to blame
The mother and the father
Oompa loompa doompadee dah
If you're not spoiled then you will go far.
You will live in happiness too
Like the oompa loompa doompadee do

The Oompa Loompas are right more often than not...

But I love the way people with no kids are all judgy about what kids do and how parents react. (I was the SAME judgy person before I had kids, don't get me wrong.) It is just soooo easy to visualize the 'perfect' child and how that 'perfect' child will behave, isn't it?

You know, I used to be EXACTLY like that guy. In some ways, I still am - when it comes to other people's kids, I have very little patience. But I gotta tell you, you really do learn patience when you have your own child. I've learned a lot becoming a mother. And the Oompa's (and this clown) are right: You want a bratty child, then spoil him. But I wish he wouldn't generalize and say that ALL parents are the way that he described. If it's one thing that I, personally, will not stand for it's a spoiled and bratty child. And I do NOT give in to my son every time he throws a fit. And you never know what kinds of problems certain kids have, or as you said, what happened that day. He's making generalizations based on a few incidents.

Anyway, if someone such as myself can learn patience, maybe he can too. Let's hope so, for he may have children someday, lol.
